Sayeh Nejatiankazemi

I embarked on my educational journey with a thirst for creativity and a desire to bring change through art: 2004-2008: I pursued my passion at the University of Nabi Akram (USNA), earning a Bachelor’s degree in Drama Acting in Tabriz, Iran. It was during this time that I discovered the transformative power of the stage. 2010-2012: I continued my academic journey at the University of Art in Tehran, where I honed my skills and attained a Master’s degree in Cinema with a specialization in directing. This period marked the fusion of my passion for cinema with my love for the performing arts. 2020-2023: Seeking to broaden my horizons and delve deeper into the world of performance, I pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Pedagogy at the University of Bergen (HVL) in Norway. This diverse educational background equipped me with a unique perspective on the intersection of art, education, and social change. 2023-2025: My quest for artistic excellence and a deeper understanding of the transformative potential of performance led me to the University of Bergen (KMD), where I am currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) with a focus on performance. This educational journey is shaping my artistry and activism in new and exciting ways.

My artistic practice revolves around the medium of performance, and I am deeply committed to challenging the borders that separate performance from theater. I believe that performance is a potent form of political activism, offering a lens through which we can observe and challenge our relationship with politics.
