Fernanda Chieco, Brazilian/Italian visual artist (b.1976). Lives and works in Bergen/Norway. During an international professional career spanning 15 years Chieco has produced a large body of research-based work encompassing performance, painting, drawing, site-specific and installation. Inspired by rituals, choreographies and propaganda films she creates dystopias addressing relationships between humans and complex themes such as consumption, control and dominant social habits. Since completing her MA in Fine Arts at Goldsmiths College London, she has participated in exhibitions and art residency programmes internationally. Her works integrate several private and public collections such as Zabludowicz Collection, Lodeveans Collection, Museu de Arte do Rio, Brazil Golden Art and more.
