Coline Delozanne

Coline Delozanne (b.1997, France) graduated with a Bachelor in ceramics at Duperré Paris in 2018. Interested in the anthropological and geological values of clay, she explores possibilities to turn this “man-made soil” into the soil I knew as a gardener child. It brings her to create mixed-material objects and installations, reflecting on the soil and our connection to it in the place they are produced and shown. Writing is the core of her research, in which she develops narratives on the soil and our relationship to Earth with a poetic voice. She aims to use her practice with children, as a reflection upon the habitat. It is with performing arts that Coline reaches out the direct expression of her artistic statement : “There is no inside or outside, but a complex organism breathing in and out, infinitely small meanwhile constantly expanding itself.” She develops a practice that could be developed anywhere and give different results, as an investigation allowing her to travel. In 2021, she graduated from a Master Degree in Medium and Material-based art at KHiO. This 2 years experience during the corona-pandemic released her from categories. She now collaborates with dancers as a visual artist, transfering her material-based practice as a process for choregraphy. Convinced of the urge to connect with the soil, she works back and forth from her studio to the streets. To cross perspectives, she aims to build connections with “soil actors” (landscapers, farmers, chefs) and act both in the streets and in schools to translate this investigation into art; hoping to reach out with her audience and create a dialog. Coline focuses on what gathers us today, to generate new perspectives for a shared future.
