PAB OS Equinox / September
-Day of Public Actions for Freedom & Democracy
Nordnesparken - Bergen
Friday, September 27th
Same Difference: Equinox to Equinox is a celebration of the generosity of spirit that artists can bring to life and marked a specific time and connectivity through Performance Art. The document explores the diverse conditions and nature of Performance Art in public space on a worldwide scale. An important aspect is that the project could only be realised with the very generous input for all the artists concerned, so this celebration marks the manifestation, from the thought to the action, the abstract to the concrete, in time, equal light/time zone, the Equinox.
It all started with an initiativ from the artist Chumpon Apisuk, and with the text:
“It is the day that all states must recognise and allow actions from the people which are ‘peaceful’ and ‘non-violent’. This day of action can be with or without context, but for the recognition of all people’s rights to share the public space together, in solidarity with each other, in respect of each others rights to share the same public space, as well as the time.”
PAB OS – Open Session
"PAB OS" is a free experimental art space, open to all artists, performers and the public who share our interest in Performance Art. PAB OS has been organized by Performance Art Bergen since December 2012. The PAB Open Session events are performances done in public spaces, inspired by Bbeyond’s monthly meetings in Belfast. The concept is inclusive and open, so performance artists can have an arena to test new ideas and freely work with their intuition and with each other. We also aim to stimulate and foster exchange between improvisers from various fields and disciplines – artists, movers, musicians, actors, vocalists and above all those, who are crossing all the divisions and improvising interdisciplinary and inter-medially.
