Gillian Carson
Gillian Carson works with performance, video, drawing, painting and
sculpture. She has exhibited in Europe, China and Cuba. Her work has a
poetic, repetitive and rythmical expression. She is interested in existential
experience and how repetition and rythym can build a work which she
channels through two working titles - “Roasted Heart” (emotional) and
“Processed Line” (technical). A great deal of her performance work has
been in collaboration with Robert Alda, Karen Kipphoff and Rita Marhaug.
Carson has A BA Honours from Edinburgh College of Art and an MA from
UiB, Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design.
